SHAKE, RATTLE AND ROLL
For units experiencing an earthquake while on an outing.
Requirements:
1. Comply with the Area IV general requirements.
2. Must be currently registered Scouts and Scouters with a valid Tour Permit
3. At least two (2) adults and at least one adult currently certified in First Aid.
4. This award is earned by being on a unit outing away from permanent habitation when an earthquake occurs whose
epicenter is a magnitude 3.0 or higher and close enough to be felt at the camper’s location.
5. Show evidence of earthquake by newspa
per article or other acceptable means of
epicenter location and strength to a HAT
member approving the award. Evidence to be included with award application.
6. Provide copies of tour permit, roster and any other items
required for the area (National
Forest entry permit, wilderness
Permit, fire permit, etc) with the award application.
7. Provide evidence that at least one register
ed adult on the outing has a HAT certification.
8. This award will be retroactive to January 1, 1990..
